RoOmMaTeS

Jessi and Britt
at their best

miss cuisine got a new roommate!! her name is miss acoustic. and of course the always lovely miss romance. they already seem to be enjoying themselves which is FANTASTIC considering miss acoustics last roommates were terrible!! one time the miss was in the bathroom getting out of the shower. one of the brutes knocked on the door and asked to get in. the miss said "One Minute!" that wasn't okay with the brute so she went to the kitchen sink and peed all over the dirty dishes. to say the least, she was thrilled to get out of there.

cook tonight
grilled cheese and tomato soup(:

Snow White

My first real snow day happened to be in January where it snowed three inches... or less.

to be begin my story (finally) ill start with a story.
this story is about miss cuisine who believes in the snow fairy.
if only the snow fairy would allow it to snow where she lives.
she longs oh so much for the fluffy white stuff that magically falls from the sky.
reaching the day the snow fairy had planned for snow to arrive in the valley,
the young lady awoke.
snow had fallen at last.

we got so lucky! the snow is still laying on the ground - two days later!

guys from the new dorm had spent all morning making the igloo and snowman clan.
Christiana and i just had fun playing in them after the basketball game!

so number two we decided is "mmm" status. and davies played quite well.
we got to the game a little late we we got to sit where ever we wanted - LUCKY US!
the only problem with not sitting in the student section is we weren't able to stand the whole time and cheer on the team with our loud obnoxious cheering.
after the game, we got to play in the snow more and take lots more pictures.

so miss cuisine started her first week back at school away from the fam and her texas friends.
she is pretty confident that this semester will be lovely, considering she already understands
the way of things.
as she begins her career, wish her luck and love.

cook tonight
donuts and oreo cookies
best served in bowl of milk(:

Just Gettin' Started

It always happens the same way.
The night before the first day of school is a nightmare! No sleep, tossing and turning, hungry, thirsty, not tired. Anything to get you out of bed.
Well, that is definitely NOT what happened.
This year was different.
Not just because I am now officially a college student at the Y.
Not because I live in a new house.
And most assuredly not because everywhere I look, a cute RM gives me a smile.
No. Because I knew I was were I was supposed to be.
For once in my life, it made sense that I was hear. In Utah. Going to school.
The first day.
What a wonderful day that was.
HA!
Well, at least it wasn't terrrible.
I carried around my TinkerBell lunchbox.
My backpack weighed more than me.
And in my Stats class, I was stuck on the floor listening to the lecture.
Wonderful.
Yet, when I got back to the dorm that day, I felt at peace.

And yes, it has continued.

Catering Event

Besides the wedding that i "missed," this was the last catering event that Culinary Arts went to.
We catered the administration and were a BIG hit! Of course they didn't expect anything less than perfect but honestly, who wouldn't? ;)
Thats my beautiful truck before we traded it. A '94 Dodge. A beauty. Really.
We would lay all the food in the bed, as much as we could without layering.
We would then pile everything else in the other truck we had and leeeeave!
Normally all the food would survive fine, but no guarantees on the equipment.
The last photo is a kid who made the highest stack of paper cups.
LOOK AT HIM GO!

I Missed the Wedding :0

Okay, yes it's my fault i "missed the wedding" but how could you NOT when all this great food is in need of care?  The wedding was for one of my most beloved (though he is totally and completely a high schooler at heart) teachers and the best most understanding counselor EVER!
Chef Smith married Ms. Brown
Yes. I refer to them as shown above despite thefact that i know their first names and they are basically my family at school...blah blah blah.
That's who they are. Get over it!
But anywho, it was both their second weddings so they wanted to keep it honest and simple.  They had the ceremony at this cabin over in Kennedale ten minutes away.  It's actually a family's home so technically they cant charge anyone to use their property but they do take donations.
This place is huge and beautiful!
The main house is gorgeous and the cabin behind even more so.  The yard is large enough to hold at least 200 people (they had 80) there is a pond with a fountain further back, and the coolest thing ever is that they allow guests to swim in their pool! Yeah, i would never do that!  It was beautiful and hott!
So on to the reason i "missed the wedding."  We spent all day prepring the food, doing KFC runs, sweating, laughing, and even going across town to rescue another chef...Her car wouldnt start.  But after all was said and the food was laid out, I couldnt bear the thought of seeing such wonderful people miss out on the opportunity of being married together forever..
It was sad really.
So i sat with the food admiring our great hands at work.

second time(:

today i officially have earned my young womens medallion...again! I completed it the first time when i was 13 so i figured i needed to do it again to really understand what it was and what it meant to me. So i did! PLUS i got the honor bee! which justmeans i did extra hurs of service and whatnot. It was areally great experience the second time around. I really began to understand, especially, my individual worth. Sometimes i forget who i am or what i can do for this world. but i dont foret that now(:

Mixed up: stake choir was forever cancelled. well, for thi "season" because they need at least 50 people. we had 15 show up.. :/
Mathed up: my sister now cant wait to finish her Personal Progres just so she can begin again.

yep, i was there.

On a hard day at McDonald’s (I know because I work there) it is because of sports.  Simply said, not simply done.  Our shifts begin before the sun rises where we believe we will have a slow day.  The next chance we have to look at the clock, it is now two in the afternoon and the shift is thankfully over.  You then proceed to rush out as fast as you can as to not be called back to take orders or hand food out the window.  So, thank you sports, for loving McDonald’s enough to go there every Saturday before and after your games.  You keep us in business.

okay enough sarcasm.
