livin the life

Today, i decided to be the one who went home early from work.  Sometimes i feel that i miss out on the family life because i work so much.  Today, i found out just what i was missing out on...

the family surrounding the tv during American
Idol and The Big Bang Theory.

Apparently, they had already seen the
Big Bang Theory episode..

I looooove them!  It gave me time to finish
a book!  One III wanted to read.
Imagine that, a book not for school..

CRAZY!
(btw these are my pictures for today. for the past two dayys i promise they are coming!)

I was once told that when you write in your journal dont waste time on the days you missed. Focus on the day that it is.  That is what is most important to you at that time.  Well, i love that rule!  That rule has saved my life when it comes to missing days :P
However, i made a promise to myself and to you that i would have a picture a day.

my terrific tuesday

I had no classes today. I mean absolutely no classes today.  It was weird but of course i enjoyed every minute of it. I finally took the time to start on my bag. Its a Simplicity pattern and its really...Simple!
Here are some pictures but im not done yet.
My mom sat and laughed at how disorganized i was and how messy i kept everything. She asked me why when i cooked i kept things neat annd tidy and i enjoyed it. Not that i didnt enjoy making the bag but everything just seemed so complicated. But thats probably due to the fact that i dont sew nearly as often as i cook.
Im very proud of the outcome so far!

My little trooper through all this! She keeps track of all the loose and fallen strings and then lets me know! What a good girl!

I also made egg salad sandwhiches! Yum! A hint of lemon juice hits the spot! Best stuff ive made of it yet!

This is our ping pong table. We got it for Christmas. I just wanted to show you why the Elders some over so often. No, its not for the food or company. No. Its for a good game of ping pong. They could spend hours in there if it werent so chilly outside in the garage. My dad prides in beating one of the Elders finally! He won twice that day so im guessing that the Elder was just having an off day :P

Thanks for comin to see us guys!

2nd Place

Its been one of those really good days where everything goes so well that the few bummer-incidents dont mess it up.  I had no Seminary this morning so i slept in until eight thirty! So of course the day seemed to be much MUCH shorter. But the morning that i normally dread starting, ended up being fantastic!
Which is what brings me to the next topic of tonights post:
Im going to start a Picture of the Day.  Anyone who wants to join in and post or link to mine is free to. In fact, please do!
Todays picture is not one i took (but the rest will be i promise).

In culinary arts today, we took our final which was writing an essay about what we have learned in the class.  I didnt even like cooking before i was in that class so i had a lot to say. Then we had a competition to see who could make the most tasty and most unique-looking breakfast item.  My friend and i made the eggs in a nest dish, hashbrowns, and sausage. We designed it in a way that looked super professional and amazing! It was an automatic eye-catcher.  The judges were brought in and while we cleaned up they judged.  Im not sure what teachers they were but they knew enough about cooking to use the big technical words to describe who won and why.  We got second in both taste and presentation.  There was a waffle and icecream dish that looked healthy.  Yeah-got me to.  But i have to admit, it was pretty tasty-looking. Not healthy, but tasty(: The dish that won first in taste were these two dorks-of-guys.  They called theirs meat-in-a-bowl.  It consisted of bacon and sausage that stuck out of the corners of the bowl (square bowl) and a scrambled egg mixture filled the middle. It was very yummy! and spicy.

Now, for the song of the day.  Which Part is Mine by Michael Mclean.  I think i might have listened to it thirty times today! Its just so pretty and inspiring. If you have never heard of it...LISTEN TO IT NOW!

So that pretty much sums up my day.  It was very relaxing with only one class and it was overcast and enjoyable with both parents at home today. Ended with the putting-up of these cute letters from Michaels.

I must apologize...

My fellow bloggers,
I must say that beginning this blog I was frightened.  I didnt want to make those simple mistakes on my posts like spelling errors and not making sense.  I was scared that what I wrote about would be boring and unrelatedable (yay for big words!).  But then, all of a sudden, it hit me! Thank goodness it didnt hit me literally but only figuratively.  I realized that I was living a lie--blog wise.  I wansnt giving all of you the truth.  I wasnt telling you who I am as a person on the outside or the inside.  What I wished for most in begining this blog for now the third time, was to find people that I could relate to.  People who loved to read about other people.  Facebook is one social network that I did enjoy for some time.  But how much truth is really put into what people say on there?  I mean, half of them just want to impress someone else or BE someone else.  Well not me.  Not anymore.  This is my blog and those of you who read have the right to know who I am and what I am all about.

SO! Now that I have done that, here it goes.  First off, I must say that I will be writing what I am thinking.  Hence the reason half of what you read is scattered and mind-blowing :P

To begin, I am a person of change.  I have moved so many times in my life I gave up on counting.  Dont get me wrong, I can recall every place Ive been, I just choose, at this time, to not remember.  Being a person of change, I have this weird thing about me that I must be truly honest about:  I  can in no self of mine, remain the same.  In person, in spirit, outside and inside, I am on a constant run.  Dont misunderstand me now.  I dont really care what other people say on the outside.  On the inside however, I remember what almost every single person has said to me.  I can easily recall those late night chats with girlfriends about the most nonsensical things.  I can remember the first time the boy of my dreams said, "Hey you! Move over! Thats my desk." Yes.  That really happened.  But no matter.  He is a loser and I have moved on to big and better things...TEXAS!
My room is all apart of the many ME's therre are.  Here is proof:
Well, my dad always did tell me that messsy was my middle name.  My dresser...II CLEANED IT!

This looked completely different only    months ago.

Do you see that Hope chest at the end of my bed?  Last night it wasnt there but over where the cat box is.  And six months ago that bed was sticking straight out of the wall instead of laying flat against it.  The desk and bookcase move constantly, though, I think I have found a liking to the where the bookcase lies.

Nooooow!  For my favorite part of my room.......

This wall contains all the things a girl loves the most.
It has a variety of coats and jackets and scarfs,
while the floor holds millions of bags to choose
from.  Okay, not millions.  But close enough.
OH!  I almost forgot about my Mexican dress wall! There you will also see my matching green bin for shoes (not all of them I assure you), Chinese lanterns and polka dotted wall.  Cute, right?
Now, I am also the girl that you absolutely hated in school.  My hair is naturally curly.  Thats okay, get it out now.  Might as well.  Im so used to it Im not even I notice when someone compliments me on it.  Okay thats a lie.  I love it when people say it looks good or whatever...just so long as you get the point.  I could only manage one semi-good picture of it so bear with me when you see it.  P.S. I was home alone.

Well guys, thats me for ya!  I hope that I can only fulfil this blog as some many others have.

A Fiesta of Crepes!

Yesterday I was looking in the fridge for something to eat. We had Mexican food the other night and had some leftovers. I started looking online for something that I could possibly make out of the all the items left.
This is what I came up with:
Crepes:
3/4 milk
2 eggs
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons slightly cooled butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup flour
Start by making this ahead of time. You blend all the ingredients in BLENDER and let sit for approx. 30 minutes. Letting it rest will release any airbubbles left sitting at the bottom.

Crepe filling-What makes it Mexican:
Spanish rice
Homemade refried beans
Sour cream
Homemade bean dip

Add oil to the pan and let it heat up.  Once water sizzles in it, the oil
is ready.  Quickly drop in the batter approx. measured
with 1/3 cup.

Its so easy and fun! Making the batter is the
best part! Itm makes you feel like a REAL chef
in a REAL kitchen somewhere in New York!

And to top it off nicely, add Picante sauce and sour cream (there is no sour cream here though :)

Don't worry! I didn't forget about dessert!

Cherry-filled crepes.  You already have the crepes made all you need is the cherry pie filling and your set to go.

Spread cool whip all over the crepe and top it with the cherry pie filling.

Roll it up nice and tight!

Spread cool whip all over the crepe and top it with the cherry pie filling.

DELICIOUS!
